The Best Of Paul Heyman

At this point in professional wrestling history, there is little argument that the undisputed master of the microphone is Paul Heyman.

On the night after WrestleMania XXX, Paul was at it again. A question was asked. Was it one of the best promos of his career? Since no one seemed sure, I did a little research. I expected to compile a list of Paul Heyman's 10 best promos, but he could not be contained. Enjoy this trip down memory lane.

14. "I Am A Man! Man! Man!" - Before there was Paul Heyman, wrestling fans got to enjoy Paul E. Dangerously. This clip is kind of like two promos in one. First, Paul gets some digs in on the boss' son. Then, he delivers an amazing tirade on Madusa...and pays the price.

13. Farewell To TNN - Unfortunately, it's impossible to find a video clip of Paul Heyman setting fire to ECW's business relationship with TNN. It's almost too real to be called a promo, but it's also unforgettable.

12. The Extreme Debate - It's Paul Heyman vs. Jerry "The King" Lawler, long
 before WWE got its "Attitude".

11. The Proposal - It's too bad this partnership didn't work out for the long-term, because Heyman seemed to thrive in the shadow of the mighty Ryback.

10. Heyman vs. McMahon vs. Bischoff - Historically noteworthy simply for the three people sharing the ring at the same time. Paul Heyman squares off with Eric Bischoff while Vince McMahon enjoys the best seat in the house.

9. One Night Stand 2005 - Paul Heyman shoots. Which is cool. He gets in an all-time line on JBL, and the "real" reasons behind his WWE Championship reign.

8. The Hug - Backed into a corner. Running out of options. Guess what Paul Heyman does? He lies, and (briefly) wins back the trust of CM Punk before screwing him over once and for all.

7. The Volcano Promo - This one really defies description. I have no idea how Ryback keeps a straight face.

6. "This Invasion Just Got Taken...To The Extreme!" - Let's be honest. The Invasion did not get off a very good start, but it seemed to spring to life in an instant. All it needed was a little ECW and Paul Heyman. Sadly, a lot of the good done here was undone at the end of the night.

5. "That Wasn't Me." - Facing almost certain firing at the hands of Vince McMahon, Paul Heyman did what he does best. Lied. Lied in the face of indisputable video evidence linking him to The Shield. Bonus points for his reaction to everything Brock Lesnar does afterward.

4. "Brock Lesnar Is The 1!" - Gloating. Fun to try. Tough to master. It didn't seem to matter how Brock Lesnar broke The Streak. All that mattered was how Paul Heyman basked in the glory.

3. "We Were The Best In The World" - An underrated gem. Paul Heyman lays out his very strong case for screwing CM Punk, and punctuates his promo by unleashing The Beast.

2. Heyman vs. McMahon - On the eve of Survivor Series 2001, and what would be the end of The Invasion, fans got a dream match-up: ECW's Paul Heyman in a one-sided verbal showdown with Vince McMahon.

1. Chicago - "The greatest professional high" WWE could offer. That's how Paul Heyman would later describe this promo. Facing one of the most hostile crowds in the history of Monday Night Raw, WWE sent out its very best to placate and manipulate. As he almost always does, Heyman delivered.
