Mayhem Mania - Round 7

This... is... Mayhem Mania! Not quite a game. Not really a contest. More like a competitive thought experiment. The object is to create the best WrestleMania card possible - NOT necessarily to predict what WWE will do.

If you're just joining us, here are the recaps of previous rounds.
Round 1 - Round 2 - Round 3 - Round 4 - Round 5 - Round 6

So far, only one match has been able to GRADUATE to the permanent SUPER CARD as a result of it surviving through 3 rounds without anyone making a change to it.

The Miz vs. Damien Mizdow

Round 7 was held during the Wrestling Mayhem Show (@MayhemShow) on March 3.
6 members of the WMS Universe made a single "move" or a change to the card. Those participants had the usual 3 options:

1. SWAP a wrestler/tag team with another already on the card.
2. ADD an unused wrestler/tag team to an existing match.
3. TRADE a match for an entirely new match with unused wrestlers.

The NXT ban enacted in Round 6 was lifted for Round 7. In addition, we added a new element. One participant was randomly selected to draw a name from the Jar Of Midcarders and place that wrestler somewhere on the card. Here's how it all went down.

This is not fantasy booking (even though it kind of is). All wrestlers come in their current physical and emotional state. All wrestlers must have a reasonable chance of being hired by WWE to appear on the real-life WrestleMania card.

Mayhem Mania - Round 7 Results

Move 5 (@MainstreamMat)

Move 6 (@Sorgatron) -

With the latest moves now on the books, let's look at the Mayhem Mania card after Round 7. First, two more matches have now successfully survived three consecutive rounds without being changed and GRADUATE to the permanent SUPER CARD!

Goldust vs. Stardust

Rusev vs. Brock Lesnar

Congratulations! Another match is now just one round away from also graduating. This one was created in Round 5.

Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks

Shockingly, the following two matches created in Round 6 survived Round 7 unscathed.

John Cena vs. Roman Reigns vs. The Rock vs. Alex Riley

Ricky Steamboat vs. Sting

Finally, here are the 3 newly altered/created matches from Round 7.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Daniel Bryan v. Sami Zayn v. Curtis Axel

Lucha Dragons v. Undertaker & Kane

Dean Ambrose v. Seth Rollins

Believe it or not, there is only one round left in Mayhem Mania. Round 8 will be held on Tuesday, March 17. That may leave you asking, what happens between now and then?

NEXT Tuesday night on the Wrestling Mayhem Show, we will hold a special Patreon In The Bank round, in which financial supporters of the WMS will have the opportunity to make MULTIPLE changes to the card.

Before that can happen, we have two open slots on the card left by the two newly graduated matches that must be filled. Therefore, the Patreon In The Bank round will be immediately preceded by a special Round 7.5, where the creators of the two graduated matches will create new matches to fill the two open slots.

If you're not a WMS Patreon supporter, there's still time to get signed up and get in on the fun next week. You can pledge as little as $1 per episode, and it helps the WMS crew bring you quality wrestling podcasts almost every day.

Join us next Tuesday for Round 7.5 and the Patreon In The Bank Round during the live broadcast at live.sorgatronmedia.com starting around 9 p.m.

Thanks for supporting Mayhem Mania!
