This... is... Mayhem Mania! Not quite a game. Not really a contest. More like a competitive thought experiment. The object is to create the best WrestleMania card possible - NOT necessarily to predict what WWE will do.
If you're just joining us, here are the recaps of previous rounds.
Round 1 - Round 2 - Round 3 - Round 4
Round 1 - Round 2 - Round 3 - Round 4
Round 5 was held during the Wrestling Mayhem Show (@MayhemShow) on February 17. But before any new changes were made, I announced the first match to GRADUATE to the permanent SUPER CARD as a result of it surviving through 3 rounds without anyone making a change to it.
The Miz vs. Damien Mizdow
Congratulations! The graduation of the above match meant that a slot opened up on our 8-match card. Since Sorgatron created the match that graduated, he got to CREATE a new one to fill the void. That was followed by 5 other members of the WMS Universe making their single "move" or a change to the card. Those participants had the usual 3 options:
1. SWAP a wrestler/tag team with another already on the card.
3. TRADE a match for an entirely new match with unused wrestlers.
This is not fantasy booking (even though it kind of is). All wrestlers come in their current physical and emotional state. All wrestlers must have a reasonable chance of being hired by WWE to appear on the real-life WrestleMania card.
Mayhem Mania - Round 5 Results
Move 1 (@Sorgatron) -
CREATE Luke Harper v. Sami Zayn
Move 2 (@Power2TheSmarks) -
TRADE Charlotte v. Paige for El Torito v. Hornswoggle
Move 3 (@DJLunchbox) -
SWAP Triple H for The Rock
Move 6 (@bobbyfjtown) -
SWAP Dolph Ziggler for Hideo Itami
With the latest moves now on the books, let's look at the Mayhem Mania card after Round 5. Shockingly, the longest surviving matches are now these 4, which were created in Round 4.
Goldust vs. Stardust
The Usos vs. Tyson Kidd & Cesaro vs. Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose vs. Big Show & Kane
Rusev vs. Brock Lesnar
That leaves us with 4 newly altered matches following Round 5.
Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks
John Cena vs. Roman Reigns vs. The Rock
Triple H vs. Sting
Hideo Itami vs. Daniel Bryan
Round 6 is next Tuesday night on the Wrestling Mayhem Show. See which changes go down during the live broadcast at live.sorgatronmedia.com starting around 9 p.m.
We have some more fun twists planned in the coming weeks, so stay tuned and thanks for supporting Mayhem Mania!
