Should we all be resigned to the fact that the main event of WrestleMania XXIX will be rematch between The Rock and John Cena for the WWE Championship? It appears that is the endgame being laid out as we approach the Royal Rumble. Where does that leave some of the other top stars? Here's some predictions following the first Raw of 2013.
The Rock v. John Cena - WWE Championship
I guess that makes this "Twice In A Lifetime", but if Cena wins the Rumble it makes sense that he'd want another shot at The Great One.
Undertaker v. Brock Lesnar
It would be a waste to use Lesnar for anything less than a co-main event. Few would dare to argue that a rematch with Triple H would be more compelling...or marketable.
CM Punk v. Ryback- Hell In A Cell
Came to the realization last night that this rivalry still has not been properly paid off. Some kind of cage gimmick is a must to address The Shield.
Dolph Ziggler v. Big E Langston (with AJ Lee)
Last night's Raw makes me think Dolph's face turn may be on the fast track. Handing Big E his first loss would be a good launching point for him.
Big Show v. Sheamus v. Randy Orton v. Alberto Del Rio - World Heavyweight Championship
Why not? If nothing else, it holds off the fresh Sheamus/Orton feud until after Mania.
Rhodes Scholars v. Kane/Daniel Bryan- Tag Team Championship
Putting Team Hell No into title chase mode can get this feud to Mania. A good tag title match feels like a must to mark a year of great progress for the division.
Rey Mysterio v. Sin Cara
A dream match WWE wants, if it can get these two healthy.
